Public demo – One year of Birmingham’s Road Safety Emergency

On Friday 1st August 2025, Better Streets for Birmingham is marking the first anniversary of of the council declaring a city wide Road Safety Emergency with a demonstration infront of the council office.

Friday 1st August 2025 – Victoria Square, central Birmingham

5pm – Gather in Victoria Square
5.30pm – Speech – Martin Price
5.40pm – Two-minute silence
5.45pm – Group photo
6pm – If you have cycled into the city join us for the Circle City Cycle ride after.

Support our campaign for a better Birmingham

Together, we’ve reduced speed limits, increased camera enforcement, overhauled third-party reporting, defeated the city centre cycling ban, forced the mayor to keep the active travel commissioner role, and challenged our authorities to go further and faster.
