Birmingham City Council 2022 Elections

This campaign has ended. You can read about our current campaigns online.

Candidate views project

We teamed up with Sustrans and Pushbikes to ask candidates in the upcoming elections how they will improve streets in Birmingham.

The surveys were sent to the four major parties who are standing in the elections. We asked the parties to distribute the survey to all candidates.

The responses were published on a website so residents could see how candidates feel about public transport and active travel in their ward.

10% of candidates in the local elections responded to the survey. We hope to run this project again in future during other local elections taking place in the West Midlands.

Poster

We created a poster for the election for people to display in their windows during the election period.

Poster reading: "I will vote in the local elections on 5th May for: bike lanes, safe pavements and crossings, bus lanes, low traffic neighbourhoods.". At the bottom of the poster there is a Better Streets for Birmingham logo.

We printed a number of copies which we delivered to Bournville, Kings Heath, Kings Norton, Moseley, Selly Oak and Stirchley.

If you have a local election in your area and would like to use the poster, we have created a template that you can add your organisation’s logo to. If the date needs changing from 5 May, get in touch and we can change it.
